Athletes Visit Pavilion

Nancy Hubenig and Colette Bourgonje

The Saskatchewan Pavilion at the 2010 Paralympic Games opened on Wednesday, March 17, and featured an appearance by silver medal-winner Colette Bourgonje.

Colette and her family visited with those gathered at the pavilion, and brought along her silver medal for all to see. Saskatchewan singer-guitarist  Anique Granger and her band performed.

On Friday, March 19, writer Mary Harelkin Bishop will be on hand along at the Pavilion with Colette Bourgonje. They will be signing copies of Ms. Bishop’s book about Ms. Bourgonje, entitled “Moving Forward: The Journey of Paralympian Colette Bourgonje”. The book tells the story of Ms. Bourgonje’s journey from becoming paralyzed at age 18 in a car accident to becoming a Paralympic athlete. Learn more in this story by Jana G.
