Saskatchwewan Food a Hit

Bison Burger, Anyone? We've Got 'Em!

Burgers

Vancouverites and Games visitors from around the world are getting a taste of Saskatchewan, and they are liking it.

The Saskatchewan Pavilion is serving up Saskatchewan-supplied food including BBQ bison burgers, BBQ lentil burgers, Saskatchewan sausage on a bun (with sauerkraut) and Saskatoon berry tarts.

"Part of experiencing Saskatchewan is enjoying the great food our farmers and ranchers produce," Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud said. "To truly showcase what our province has to offer, it is essential we provide home-grown Saskatchewan products on the menu."

The Saskatchewan sausage is from Harvest Meats in Yorkton, the bison burgers are supplied by Canadian Prairie Bison Meats from Canwood, the Saskatoon berries are supplied by Prairie Berries from Keeler and the lentils are supplied from the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers Association.

Word is getting around town, and the first question from some pavilion visitors is, “Where can I get one of those bison burgers?”
